Kundalini Yoga
Where to start?
You may have taken a Kundalini Yoga class recently and fell in love with the effect, the feeling of Kundalini Yoga and now you feel super inspired to start your own practice (where a lot of the magic of KY is yet to be experienced..).
But, where to start? And how do I begin you may ask!?
Well, this is a great place to start.
Here I will share with you a couple top tips for starting your own practice.
Let’s begin!
Ong Namo Guru Dev Namo
Every class, every workshop, Kriya practice or meditation will always always begin with the Adi Mantra.
We chant this mantra 3 times before we begin any KY practice to help us tune into our Higher Self.
It literally means ‘I bow to the Divine Wisdom within’ or ‘I call apon the Teacher within.’
You can chant this out load or silently. (Out loud is better as you are able to hear and connect to your own sound but if its not possible then silently will do just fine!)
You can either inhale and chant this mantra in one breath, or you can split the mantra in two using another breath before you chant the second part of the mantra.
For example : inhale, chant Ong Namo then inhale again and chant Guru Dev Namo.
Always chant this mantra 3 times.
Now do your desired practice.
To end your practice, chant Sat Nam either once or three times. (Yogis choice!)
But try to always close your practice again either chanting silently or out loud.
Now continue your day, knowing that you have taken time out to connect to yourself, calmed your mind and projected your intentions and energy in a direction to serve your highest possible experience on earth!
