An expression of gratitude
Sat Gur Prasad
There are a few things that I love about Kundalini yoga.
But I think one of my favourite things about practicing Kundalini is after some time of consistently practicing I seem to cultivate a deep, powerful sense of extraordinary gratitude that starts to show itself in every moment of the day.
After my morning Sadhana I feel this intense gratitude for life and my path that I am on. It’s like each time I do my practice I see the world and life through new, shiny, clearer lenses. My heart exploding with love for this life, for each breath (literally), for each human and all living beings.
Wow, it can be sometimes so intense that all I can do is cry because of the realisation of how precious this gift of life is. We are here on Earth for such a short moment and so often we are conditioned into patterns and belief systems that keep us small, stuck and unhappy, missing out on all the magic that is there to experience.
But when you take the time to connect to your Self (through your Yoga practice) and remember daily who you really really are – way deep down – and not who you think you are – but remembering that pure, infinite creation of Love being that exists deep inside beyond the mind and its projections – when you drop into your heart and feel that knowing of the Infinite – then suddenly all the dramas and problems start to dissolve and you can reconnect to your real purpose for being on this earth – to enjoy and create the best life you ever dreamed for yourself! Full of presence and love for yourself and the other!
Realising Oneness is truly a gift, a blessing.
In the Kundalini tradition there is a mantra from one of the sacred scriptures – Ek Ong Kar. Sat Gur Prasad – Creator and Creation are One. Truth is the gift of the Guru – (Guru is the teacher (Life, Sound, Breath, the challenges that come on your path – can all be your Guru (not necessarily a human form but more an energy that helps you transcend/teaches you/ guides you to your higher light in your moments of darkness ))
Sat Gur Prasad – Truth is the gift – Presence/Awareness/Bliss is the gift. (Free from suffering/ over thinking/ feeling negative) Those moments when you’re in complete awe of this miracle of life -Presence- that is the gift. Why’s that important though? Because if you know a bit about the Spiritual law of attraction – positive or negative thoughts bring positive or negative experiences – then you’ll start to notice that being in this state of gratitude starts to expand your energy field so positively that will start to attract more and more positive things in your life – more gifts – more Higher Unconditional love – more abundance – basically more of everything you DO want and that feels good. And this cycle of positive creation continues to amplify the more you become aware of it and feed it through your practice and your feelings of gratitude.
There are so many infinite realities that are present on Earth right now and wherever we place our attention, that is what will grow in our experience.
My Kundalini Yoga practice shifts my focus to the things that are in my control in this moment – like being grateful for the big things – life/my mission – and the small things – like a butterfly or a puppy/ a cat or a friend ( that makes my heart explode with Love btw.. :)) Focusing on things that give me energy in the moment like breath or mantra. My practice brings me into the NOW.
We always have a choice in how we choose to see the world. Choosing Love and Yoga do not mean that I am not aware or don’t care about the other more negative things happening on this planet – Quite the contrary ( I feel deep pain and sorrow for those in pain and suffering and I do care) But my heart guides me to keep myself happy internally, so that I can show up in my life with a full heart and share my energy and presence with those I meet on my path. And so I keep the Love energy flowing where I can. And I feel like this is what we can do to change the world – we change ourselves first – we shift our focus onto something positive.
My practice challenges me daily, but when I keep up with it, the fruits are oh so sweet <3
Wahe Guru! (My exclamation of Gratitude, Bliss and acknowledging the Infinite/ Spirit / Source )
Sat Nam
